Restylane is an injectible filler made of stabilized hyaluronic acid found naturally in human tissue. The filler acts with the body s own production of hyaluronic acid to add volume to the injected areas.
Restylane is excellent for correcting:
- Fine lines
- Crows feet
- Lip lines
- Smile lines
- Under-eye wrinkles
- Scars
Time Required to perform: It usually takes no more than 30 minutes to perform a restylane treatment
In/Out Patient: Outpatient
Side Effects: Side effects are rare but may include swelling, redness and tenderness at the site of injection.
Risks: Restylane is a safe product. Hyaluronic acid is not considered a foreign substance to the body since it already exists naturally, so there is no risk of a skin reaction.
Duration of Results: Restylane results are immediate and usually last around 6-8 months. This can vary between patients depending on things like age and area being treated. Because the hyaluronic acid is a natural substance and dissovles over time, many patients choose to have follow-up injections within a year of their initial treatment.
Recovery: There is no downtime associated with Restylane. Recovery is immediate, although it's possible for patients to experience slight redness, swelling, tenderness or itching at the injection site. This may last for just a day or two, and does not pose a serious inconvenience for many patients.
Insurance: Due to the cosmetic nature of Restylane, insurance usually does not apply.
Discomfort Level: Virtually none for most people, maybe minor discomfort at injection site.
Anesthesia: None usually required,Can be combined with: Botox for enhanced results. also known as: Injectables, fillers, lip fillers, wrinkle removal, facial rejuvenation, restalyne (common misspelling)
